- Established in 1872, Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of the tallest lighthouses on the West Coast standing 115 feet.
- The lighthouse was built to guide ships safely along the treacherous coastline of California on their way to SanFrancisco harbor.
- It is located about 50 miles south of San Francisco.
- Pigeon Point is known for its ghost stories, including sightings of former lighthouse keepers who still guard it today.
