A Dream Is A Powerful Thing

Price range: $29.95 through $99.95

Dream Catchers are protection amulets. Native women wove magical webs for the infants. They used willow hoops and sinew to weave them, and they gifted them to children as a medium of protection. These charms hung above the children’s beds to catch any bad dreams or other harm that might be present. They originated with Ojibwe people and have been adopted by many tribes and now are literally woven into their culture.

In this painting I have included totem animals from the four directions. Eagle, air…Wolf, fire…Bear, water and Deer, earth.

Here are some meanings for these animals…

  1. Bear: Represents strength, courage, and introspection; encourages personal power and healing.
  2. Eagle: Symbolizes vision, freedom, and spiritual growth; promotes higher perspective and connection to the divine.
  3. Wolf: Embodies loyalty, intuition, and teamwork; signifies the importance of community and instinctual wisdom.
  4. Deer: Reflects gentleness, grace, and sensitivity; encourages compassion and nurturing qualities.
  5. Horses: Symbolize freedom, travel, and personal drive; represent the journey of life and the pursuit of goals.
  6. Dream Catcher: Serves as a protective charm, filtering out negative energies while allowing positive dreams to pass through.

Each of these original art prints are hand-made using a unique blend of inks in our home studio in Bellingham, WA. Prints are created on Epson 6000 Watercolor Texture Paper with Permanent UV Resistant Epson Inks.
