Island Travelers

Price range: $29.95 through $99.95

A Washington State Ferry carries her passengers between the islands in the San Juans. A pod of local orca whales travels alongside. The J pod is  unique as they are salmon eaters and stay in and around the islands in the Salish Sea. They are identified by the shapes of their dorsal fins and studied by local teams to track their health, reproduction and general well being.  The Orca Whale is part of the Dolphin family and is its largest member.

The Ferry in this image is the Elwah and is now retired from the fleet.

Here are some totem meaning for Orca whales…

  1. Orcas symbolize deep intelligence and the importance of learning and wisdom.
  2.  They represent strong family bonds and the significance of community and teamwork.
  3. Orcas are associated with emotional awareness and the ability to navigate complex feelings.
  4. Guidance: As a totem, they can serve as guides, helping individuals find their path and purpose.
