Dancing in Glacier Bay

Price range: $29.95 through $99.95

Humpback Whales migrate north for summer feeding all along the coast of Alaska. The light of long summer days creates the perfect environment for abundance in their food supply. I first saw humpback whales on a visit to Alaska and was amazed at the power of  these huge whales. They are known for their breaching behavior, where they launch themselves out of the water and land with a loud splash. Adults range in length from 14–17 m (46–56 ft) and weigh up to 40 metric tons (44 short tons).  Humpback whales are also known for their songs, which can last up to 30 minutes and be heard up to 20 miles away.

Here are some totem meanings for these whales…

  • Symbolizes emotional healing and compassion, encouraging empathy.
  • Represents communication and expression, particularly through song.
  • Signifies the importance of community and social connections.
  • Encourages exploration of one’s inner depths and intuition.
  • Embodies the spirit of playfulness and joy in life.

Each of these original art prints are hand-made using a unique blend of inks in our home studio in Bellingham, WA. Inspired by coastal living and the  beauty of nature. Prints are created on Epson 6000 Watercolor Texture Paper with Permanent UV Resistant Epson Inks.
